On Saturday we saw the return of our much-loved Annual Fundraising Quiz & Auction, and while the turnout was slightly smaller than usual, the atmosphere was anything but! With nine eager teams competing, the quiz was fast-paced, fiercely competitive, and filled with fun.
A huge thank you goes to our quiz master and auctioneer, who did a fantastic job keeping the questions coming and the chaos in check! As a dedicated member of the society, trustee, and volunteer, Francis truly wore many hats on the night, and wore them brilliantly.
A highlight of the night was the close showdown between the Staff Team and the Trustees; a battle of wit that ended with the staff just edging ahead by half a point. We must admit, the Trustees were down to four members due to illness, so we’ll definitely be brushing up on our trivia before next year. Consider it a rematch in the making!
As for the ultimate champions; hats off to Team Octopi, who took the crown with an impressive 5.5 point lead. The less said about that, the better… but well played, Octopi!
Our auction was another huge success, raising over £1,000 thanks to a fantastic array of lots, generously donated by local businesses. From unique experiences to must-have goodies, there was something for everyone, and every penny raised goes directly toward supporting our work.
We couldn’t do any of this without the incredible support of our community; from the businesses who donate prizes to everyone who turns up and takes part. Whether you quizzed, bid, or cheered from the sidelines, thank you for making it such a brilliant night.
Here’s to next year – and maybe a Trustee comeback!
