British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF): Free Audio Devices for People with Sight Loss

a synapptic usb player, black rectangular box, with large yellow buttons

The British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF) is a fantastic organisation that provides free audio equipment to people living with sight loss.

In the past, eligibility criteria for receiving a device were quite strict. However, over the past 18 months, BWBF has expanded its criteria. Now, many more individuals with sight conditions that affect their ability to read may qualify for a free device.

BWBF offers a wide range of audio products to suit different preferences and needs. The application process is quick and straightforward, completed via a simple online form.

At Hunts Blind, we’ve supported a number of our members in receiving devices through BWBF, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. If you’re interested in applying for a device, please get in touch with our office. We’ll connect you with one of the Outreach Workers, who will guide you through the application process and help you find a device that suits you.

Devices available include:

Alexa smart speakers

Radios

Children’s audio devices

Synapptic talking book players

Concerto audio sets

These devices can make a real difference in daily life, offering connection, entertainment, and access to information, all at no cost to the user.
