“We are thrilled to have been recognised with a recent grant from the Postcode Places Trust, made possible by funding from the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery. This support is invaluable, and we are incredibly grateful to the players for helping us continue our important work.
The grant will enable the Huntingdonshire Society for the Blind & Vision Impaired to not only sustain its current support services but also expand them. Planned initiatives include:
Improved Tech Support Groups: Offering guidance on technology to enhance accessibility and independence.
Improve the accessibility in our building: Widening the shop door, and better promotion of the visual aids we have available.
Gardening Clubs: Encouraging community interaction and engagement through gardening.
Peer Support Groups: Building a platform for shared experiences and mutual support among members.
This investment is expected to significantly enhance the quality of life and opportunities for the blind and vision-impaired individuals in Huntingdonshire.”
