Do you have a few hours to spare and a desire to make a difference in your community? We need friendly, reliable volunteer drivers to help transport our members to our social events. By offering your time, you’ll be helping individuals who are blind or visually impaired connect with others, build friendships, and enjoy fulfilling social experiences.
What We Do: Huntingdonshire Society for the Blind & Vision Impaired supports people across Huntingdonshire with a variety of sight impairments, helping them live more independent lives through a range of social events, activities, and outings. Our members rely on transportation to participate in these events, and that’s where we need your help.
Our events take place in:
- Huntingdon
- St Neots
- St Ives
- Ramsey
We can’t do this alone – we need volunteer drivers like you to ensure our members can take part in the events that matter most to them.
As a Volunteer Driver, You Will:
- Safely transport our members to and from social events, ensuring they have a safe and enjoyable journey.
- Play a key role in helping our members feel included and part of a vibrant community.
- Help create opportunities for our members to socialise, have fun, and form lasting friendships.
- Enjoy a flexible schedule – drive to events that fit your availability!
- Make a positive, lasting impact by offering the gift of connection.
What We Need from You:
- A valid driver’s license and a safe, roadworthy vehicle.
- A warm, friendly attitude and willingness to assist our members as needed.
- Availability to drive to occasional social events (times and locations vary).
- Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check.
Ready to Drive Change? If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer driver, we’d love to hear from you!
